Welcome to DBS Rescue! We are thrilled to use our creative powers and love for animals to embark on our end-goal journey to establish a non-profit dedicated to the care of big breed dogs. Currently, we are focusing on raising funds to purchase land and build a facility that will provide a safe and loving environment for up to 20 dogs. Rescue
With a goal to impact the amount of euthanized dogs in Texas, we are turning our attention and resources towards adoptable dogs that are marked "Urgent" for any reason.
Rehabilitate
Rehabilitating dogs through transformative transitional training can range from introducing them to crates as safe spaces and basic obedience, to advanced training or "home dog" time
Promote
Promotion of the dogs we rescue begins the moment we make the decision to take them in, sharing the process from intake and evaluations to intros and adoptions!
Support
Helping dogs and their potential adopters connect to ensure the dogs go to loving homes, this will be a crucial step in our adoption process.
DBS Rescue is planning to dedicate efforts rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding loving homes for adoptable shelter dogs marked as "urgent" "on the list" or "red alert" to no fault of their own. Our mission is to lower the number of adoptable dogs facing euthanasia in Dallas-Fort Worth and Collin County, Texas.
While dedicated to helping dogs succeed in finding their forever homes, we are curating a network of support for dog owners and promoting dog friendly events and fundraisers that align with the advocation of responsible pet ownership and supporting local pet businesses.
Currently we support our dog-loving community by volunteering as dog walkers and adoption counselors with Collin County Animal Services. We are officially hosting monthly, free, dog friendly community events every month to raise funds! Subscribe at the bottom of this page to stay up to date on when and where the next one is!
Our goal is with funds we raise for DBS Rescue to go towards setting up low-cost or free shot clinics, more dog friendly community events that advocate for responsible ownership and to build a 10,000 square foot facility to house dogs that are placed on "red alert" "urgent" or the "euthanasia list" while offering them a space to transition into a more home like setting, work on dog obedience training and to receive necessary vet care ensuring every dog has a chance for a better future. Enhancing Dog Visibility
Assisting adoptable dogs that are frequently overlooked due to their size, strength, age, and other factors can be difficult. We plan to overcome some of these obstacle's by sharing the animal's journey through photos and videos that will be taken with safety, stress and morals in mind.
Transformative Transitional Training
With a goal to help the dogs adjust to home life, we will be allocating resources to help dogs become comfortable with crate training, being around basic life sounds like sirens, TV noises, visitors and other dogs. With a open concept facility in mind we plan to utilize consistent positive reinforcement and kibble training to help with barking and reactivity!
Supporting the Animal Loving Community
Curating a network of supportive fosters, adopters, rescues, shelters, trainers and veterinarians will take more than two, become part of what we hope to build! The goal is to establish a COMMUNITY of trustworthy and ethical adaptors, fosters, rescues, non-profits, businesses, and impact driven animal loving advocates that operate through education and role model behaviors themselves.
Dog Friendly Events & Projects
We plan to leverage our experience, knowledge, and creativity to host and sponsor more dog-friendly events with a purpose! From advocation of responsible dog owners, to dog training seminars to adoption events or fundraisers for not just the rescue, but for our dog loving community as well!
